About Us

The Alberta Workers' Health Centre is here to help all workers.

We believe that every worker is entitled to a safe and healthy workplace. We support all workers, both unionized and non-unionized, who need assistance to make their workplaces healthier and safer, or who request help as a result of workplace injuries or illnesses.  We do this by:
  • Acting as a point of first contact for workers seeking help
  • Providing workers with education and information to help them solve workplace health and safety problems
  • Promoting health and safety issues in schools, post-secondary institutions and the community
  • Raising public awareness about workplace health and safety issues
  • Implicit in our work is the recognition that other employment issues cannot be separated from our understanding of workplace health and safety and an embracing of the principles of social and economic justice
The Centre is a registered charitable organization that is operated by a small, full-time staff taking direction from a volunteer Board of Directors of working women and men from across the province.

For a list of our current Board members, please contact the Centre.
